Trump Aims to Position U.S. as Global Crypto Leader in Recent Economic Speech

Former President Donald Trump touched on cryptocurrency during a recent economic speech. He made it clear that he aims to make the U.S. the global leader in crypto.
At the Economic Club of New York, Trump stated, “Instead of attacking industries of the future, we will embrace them, including making America the world capital for crypto and Bitcoin.” Although his speech covered many topics, he only briefly mentioned digital assets.
Interestingly, Trump may have a personal connection to the crypto world. He is the “chief crypto advocate” for a new project linked to his family, called World Liberty Finance.
During his hour-long address, Trump outlined his plans for the U.S. economy if he wins a second term. He emphasized reducing regulations and boosting domestic energy production.
He declared, “I will launch a historic campaign to liberate our economy from crippling regulation.” He also promised to eliminate at least ten regulations for every new one introduced.
Trump mentioned that, if elected, he would quickly declare a national emergency to ramp up domestic energy production. He highlighted the need for more electricity to support the growing artificial intelligence sector and keep the U.S. competitive with China.
He said, “With these sweeping authorities, we will blast through every bureaucratic hurdle to issue rapid approvals for new drilling, new pipelines, new refineries, new power plants, new electric plants and reactors of all types.” He believes that prices will fall as a result of this increased supply.
Additionally, Trump expressed his intention to accept Elon Musk's suggestion to create a government efficiency commission. This commission would audit federal spending and identify waste. He joked that Musk, the owner of X (formerly Twitter) and CEO of Tesla, was “not busy” and could lead this effort.
