Raoul Pal Predicts AI Agents Will Use Crypto for Transactions, Sparking Innovation in the Crypto Space

Raoul Pal, a former executive at Goldman Sachs, believes that artificial intelligence (AI) agents will soon use crypto assets for transactions.

In a recent video update, he explained that in the near future, these AI agents are likely to pay for things like electricity using digital assets. This would happen outside the traditional financial systems.

“AI agents are entering our world,” Pal said. “Think of it like hiring someone on Fiverr to build your website or create a marketing strategy. You delegate tasks, and the AI handles them and brings you the results. As AI becomes more autonomous, we’ll start seeing these tools in our everyday lives.”

He continued, “Once AI can perform tasks instantly, we’ll probably need crypto payments. An AI agent will need to pay for its electricity or cover computational costs. Cryptocurrency is the best option for this because, last time I checked, AI can’t open a bank account. It won’t interact with traditional economic systems. It’s not going to transfer money through systems like SWIFT. This shift shows how money will be used differently in this new economic landscape, which makes me very optimistic about crypto.”

Pal also thinks AI could spark an incredible rate of innovation in the crypto space in just a few years. “Imagine you’re in the crypto world and find an amazing decentralized exchange. You think, ‘I want to build on this idea.’ Traditionally, you’d need to form a team, raise funds, and it might take you nine months to launch your product while also managing marketing.”

“But in the near future, you could just ask an AI, ‘Hey, look at this fantastic new decentralized exchange. I want to replicate it and improve it. I also want to localize it in Hindi to reach different markets and integrate it with XYZ system.’ The AI would then design the whole project based on your request.”
