Dbrand Launches Glow-in-the-Dark Circuit Board Skins in Collaboration with LinusTechTips

Dbrand has just launched a new collection of glow-in-the-dark skins that feel like a real circuit board. They’ve used a three-dimensional UV printer to make these designs look and feel authentic.

This new Circuit Board collection is all about our curiosity to see what's inside our gadgets. Dbrand teamed up with LinusTechTips to create a pattern that resembles a functional printed circuit board (PCB). Engineers who design real circuit boards helped with the design.

Dbrand describes this intricate design as an “accurate representation of a printed circuit board.” However, it’s important to note that it doesn’t replicate a functional PCB from any device. Instead, it’s a “mosaic of functional circuit board elements.” Dbrand's CEO, Adam Ijaz, explains that it showcases components like resistors and capacitors in a way that looks great but isn't meant to function.

If you're looking for something that looks even more like a real PCB, check out Dbrand's X-Ray skins. These use actual X-rays from 125 different devices, including smartphones and laptops.

The Circuit Board skins are printed using Dbrand’s new three-dimensional UV printer. This technology allows for two-dimensional images with some elements that have a slightly raised texture. So, the electronic components and traces on the skins have a tactile feel.

There are three variations of the Circuit Board skins. First, there's a triple black “dark circuit” option. Second, a white on orange “short circuit” version, named after LinusTechTips’ Short Circuit series. Finally, there's a glow-in-the-dark version made from high-performance phosphorescent vinyl. In the dark, it glows bright green, while in the light, it appears off-white with a yellowish tint.

Dbrand offers these skins for a whopping 741 different products. You can get them for small devices like the Apple AirTag, which costs $58.95 for front and back skins for four trackers. Or, you can wrap larger devices like the Xbox Series X, which is actually cheaper at $44.95 for skins covering all six sides of the console.

If you choose the glowing skins, you won’t pay extra. Dbrand even throws in a small UV flashlight to charge them up, while supplies last.
